Hola friends and family,
This past year I have been serving on a medical site in the Dominican Republic. God has been so present every step of the way and I believe He is calling me into another year there. I can clearly see his faithfulness to provide where He calls. In my time in the Dominican I learned more about my identity, God’s provision, and His deep love for me and the people of the Dominican Republic. I also grew in my discipleship and became fluent in Spanish. This past year grew me so much closer to God and brought so much transformation in my life and the people around me.

My favorite part was helping an impoverished family who just had their fourth child. (The photo is of their children, their nephews, and me celebrating Christmas.) Their family faced a lot of challenges when little Samantha Skyler was born. Yet, I was able to teach the mother, Miranda, about financial stability and be an encouragement through the hard situations she was facing. They even named little Samantha Skyler’s middle name after my middle name! What an honor.
When I return to the Dominican Republic, I will be part of Students International Missionaries as I complete their Global Bridge 2 program. The program gives me the opportunity to help full time missionaries in a Microfinance site as I pursue higher education online through Crown College. I will be helping women start small businesses and teaching them to become financially responsible. I will also be introducing them to God, studying the Bible with them and helping them reconcile relationships. I am beyond excited to serve in this ministry! I will be serving from August 2021 to May 2022. I am eager to see what God will teach me through being obedient to this calling.
I will not be able to go without your help. I will be fully paying for all my studies as I finish my associates degree but I need to raise about $12,000 to cover airfare, housing, food, and the Microfinance ministry. Below is the link to donate which is all tax deductible (on my blog there is a list of more ways to donate). I would appreciate it if you could partner with me in prayer as well. Thank you for your support! Please reach out, I would love to talk to you about my heart for the Dominican Republic and answer any questions!
